Students Restore Frog Plains Wetland

Breanna D’Agruma and Rae Baxter, grade 11 Environmental Studies students collaborated with grade 7 students from Edmund Partridge Community School to restore a local wetland in Riverbend called Frog Plain Park.  This action project, which they called The Story of Frog Plain – was part of a larger Manitoba wide competition known as Caring For Our Watersheds. Students were able to reintroduce native species of plants including purple prairie clover, wild bergamot, milkweed and narrow-leaf sunflower. Rae and Breanna placed 5th in the Province for their leadership and dedication of Wetland restoration. Congratulations Wolverines!
