Terry Fox Walk

WK held its annual Terry Fox Day on Friday, September 27,2019.

The event was put hosted by the grade 10 and 11 leadership groups to support a great cause; the Terry Fox Foundation for Cancer Research. The day was a success, as we raised $1661. During the event, the staff and students took a 5km walk (or run) beginning at the school, around Kildonan Park and back dressed in their grade war colours. It was a bit chilly but the fall scenery was beautiful! Upon return from the walk, students headed to the back field to take in the Homecoming Football Game: WK vs GC!

It was a close and exciting game, but sadly WK lost a close one to GC. Staff and students had the chance to support the fundraising cause by buying raffle tickets and canteen items. The winner of the parking lot spot was Karley. M. in gr. 11, and the winner of the Apple Watch donated by Councillor Jeff Browaty was Jason E. in grade 10. Thank you to all the staff and students who worked very hard to make this day possible!
