Grade 9 Orientation Day and New Students Orientation 2019

Grade 9 Orientation Day was held on Wednesday,September 4th. This annual event allows the new incoming grade nine students to have the school to themselves. In this day they have the opportunity to: meet their teachers, become familiar with the building, run through a mock timetable and build community with a variety of games and activities. Leadership students from the older grades helped facilitate the day by assisting teachers & students, running the events and offering guidance and friendship to the new students.

In the afternoon, new students to our school in grades 10-12 have the opportunity to come to a new comers orientation where they are grouped with leadership students who provide guided tours, explain clubs and activities and also help in welcoming new students.

The day was a great success. The afternoon gym riot events were further enhanced by Mr. Bilyk’s joker costume and funny personality! Many new friends were made on this day, as well it helps in taking away the “fear” in starting high school and not knowing where to go, or what to do! A group photo of the nines was taken to mark their FIRST DAY of high school. In Grade 12, a second photo will be taken on their LAST DAY of school. The two comparison shots will be highlighted in their Grade 12 Yearbook.
