Students from Mrs Gadsby’s Grade 11/12 business classes attended the 3rd annual Business Case competition in Brandon. They competed in two categories: Personal Finance and Entrepreneurship. Students had a full two day workshop where they met inspiring business professionals talking about personal branding and how to properly network in industry. Students were then presented with cases in which they had to use business skills such as reading financial statements, being able to interpret data and concluding the best solution for the financial problem. Each student was presented with a $1,000 scholarship to Assiniboine Community College as a honorarium for attending and participating in the event. West K placed fourth in the personal finance category. This was a great learning experience for these students. Thank you to Brandon University and Assiniboine Community for the ongoing financial support to make this event possible.
