Grade 12 students partnered up with the Accounting supervisor, Andrew Burgelis, at the 7 Oaks Board office to get a hands on practicum experience in Accounting. Students learned a new set of Accounting principles in how it relates to public school practise using FRAME Accounting. Students got a tour of the building and were introduced to all the levels in the department. They were given a login to the program in which they entered invoices in the system and scanned source documents. Once the data was entered, students were able to run reports and see where the data that they input plays into the bigger picture of the financial reporting. This was a unique experience for the students as they got a taste of how the theory they learn in class is applied in the real world. Thank you to the Accounting department in the board office for your continued support with these students.
