Fa La La La Lattes
On December 14, 2018, West Kildonan Collegiate held their first ever holiday themed coffeehouse. This was done with the intent of raising money to help performing arts students pay for the upcoming Edmonton trip for the Cantando Music Festival. The event was cleverly titled “Fa La La La Lattes” and many kids put in time and effort baking treats, serving tables, setting up and cleaning up, as well as some even performing.
Performances included small groups and soloists who played instruments and sang. Students had the opportunity to choose their own songs and express themselves creatively however they wanted. The money raised was ultimately generated through ticket sales, which were $5 each. Once students sold tickets, the money would be used to financially support them on their journey to Edmonton.
The event was held in the commons, and many families and students came to show their support as well as to enjoy the coffee, tea, and treats being served. In summary, the night of the coffeehouse was one full of positivity and holiday spirit, run by students eager to entertain and serve their community.
