Terry Fox Day at West K.
On Thursday, September 27,2018, West Kildonan held their annual Terry Fox Day. The event was put together by the grade 9, 10, and 11 leadership groups to support a great cause; the Terry Fox Foundation for cancer research. The day was a success, as we raised $1880 that day, passing our goal of $1700!
During the event, the staff and students took a 5km walk beginning at the school, around Kildonan Park and back. It was a bit chilly but the fall scenery was beautiful! Upon return from the walk, students had the chance to support the fundraising cause by buying lunch or raffle tickets. There were delicious items at our bake sale, pizza sales from Chicken Chef, hot dogs and chip sales, prize raffles, and more. One fundraising highlight for students was the raffle to win a FREE parking spot in the school lot! All the money generated on this day went to the Terry Fox Foundation in support of cancer research. We want to thank the following community businesses who graciously donated items for our Terry Fox event: Chicken Chef, Browns Socialhouse Ridgecrest, Freshii, and Old Dutch.
