On May 17th, Grade 10 and 11 business students attended a case competition in Brandon. 14 schools from Manitoba and Saskatchewan had attended this event hosted by Brandon Univeristy and Assinaboine Community College. All the students attending, were offered a $1,000 scholarship for the Business Administration program at ACC. On Thursday The students had attended a gala night. This night was all about networking with other schools and had guest speakers from Saskatchewan who shared their experiences of what a successful entrepreneur looks like. On Thursday, West K placed first in a Lip Sync battle singing Let it Go. (Video to follow) Thursday night was all about teamwork and networking with other schools.
On Friday morning we were presented with our cases. Students had entered an Entrepreneurship and a Personal Finance case. Both teams did an amazing job. The entrepreneurship team placed 5th. The students had applied their knowledge from their business courses to the case study in which they had to to come up with alternative solutions to financial problems.
