West Kildonan Collegiate Concert Bands took part in the 43rd annual Optimist Band Festival at the Convention Center during the week of February 20 – 23. Band students performed challenging festival repertoire that they had been working on for a long time.  Everyone performed really well, and learned so much from the top-notch adjudicators. Students also learned from seeing other bands play from all over the city and province. It is such a fabulous event that brings together the music education community to celebrate music! Extra congratulations to the Grade 10 Band, who were invited to take part in MusicFest Canada (“The Nationals”) based on their outstanding performance- way to go!
