Dome Building in Drafting 20G

Mr Asher’s Drafting 20G students from West Kildonan applied basic geometric construction principles to design and sketch upon paper. As one of the outcomes of the assignment was to understand of the limits of construction qualities of materials, they then built a geodesic dome using basic physical modelling tools. Each students built one polygon, and two hexagons, and the class as a whole, assembled the dome.

Once the paper dome was built, it was donated to the Daycare, where the children affectionately referred to it as the “Dinosaur Cave”.
