All West K Band Students enjoyed an enriching educational outreach performance of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra (WSO) hosted in the Judy Silver Commons of Maples Collegiate on October 6. It was a great pleasure and privilege to hear the symphony playing in this intimate setting. Maestro Alexander Mickelthwate led the audience of music students through various forms and eras of sypmphonic music, providing an informative and interactive environment for all. During the performance Maestro Mickelthwate offered an oportunity to conduct the WSO to the students, and chose our very own Stephanie Vidmar (Grade 9, Alto Sax) to be “guest conductor”, and she did a great job- way to go, Maestro Vidmar! Thanks to the WSO for this wonderful and inspirational musical opportunity!
